POST-WEDDING SAFARI

TO THE BUSH...

After our wedding we will be going on a three day safari to our favorite place - Pilanesberg National Park. For those who want to join us, we would be absolutely thrilled to share our love for the bush with you (this is not a honeymoon, the more the merrier)! We will be flying from Cape Town to Johannesburg (OR Tambo Airport) on the morning of Wednesday, October 26 and heading up to Shepherd's Tree Game Lodge once we land. We will spend three nights in the bush and depart after lunch time on Saturday, October 29 to Johannesburg (OR Tambo Airport).

About Pilanesberg: Pilanesberg is home to over 7,000 animals including the Big 5. Located under three hours north of Johannesburg, it is an easy to get to (and Malaria-free) national park that boasts 125,000 acres to explore. Pilanesberg is the crater of a long extinct volcano that is one of the largest volcanic complexes of its kind in the world. The park rests within the transition zone between the dry Kalahari and wetter Lowveld vegetation, (commonly referred to as “Bushveld”). Unlike other parks, unique overlaps of mammals, birds and vegetation occur because of this transition zone. The colorful hues, varied habitats and panoramas will delight and entertain photographers and visitors. In the centre of the park is Thabayadiotso, “the Proud Mountain”. Over time, wind and water have carved a spectacular landscape with rocky outcrops, open grasslands, wooded valleys and thickets.

All hotel rooms have king beds, oversized bathrooms and a private outdoor shower. The Lodge has an outdoor pool and scenic communal areas, a large dining room and it features the Amani Spa. Outside of the dining area in the great lawn on the other side of a fence is a watering hole that is frequented by many animals including the Big 5, giving visitor's a unique experience of being up close with the world's largest wild animals.

We have secured a special group rate for those wanting to join us. The total rate for 3 nights is 17,900 Rand per couple. This nightly rate includes accommodation, two game drives daily (3 hours each), plus breakfast and dinner. Alcoholic beverages, spa treatments, gratuity for game drivers and any extras are not included in this rate. Additionally, lunch on the departure day, October 29th is not included.
